Collecting: Bottles.

I love collecting old bottles.
I saw these at a thrift store on the coast
and wanted to buy each and every one.
I stopped myself but did snap some photos.

What do you collect?

Soldering with Kate Richbourg.

Last night on the set of Beads Baubles and Jewels we learned to solder.
The amazing Kate Richbourg taught us how to make
simple copper and brass hammered rings.  We were all hooked immediately.

Here is my grouping.  I love to wear them stacked on each other.

We used a Blazer torch, liquid solder and copper and brass wire.

Here we are putting solder on the ring joint.

I loved making some thicker rings and some thinner.
I can't wait to get home and buy all the supplies to make more!

On Set at Beads, Baubles and Jewels.

I had so much fun taping with Beads Baubles and Jewels.
Katie Hacker is a gem of a host and a fantastic friend.
I met so many great folks and we had so much fun in the green room.
Tomorrow I will share some soldering we did in the evening,
lead by the vivacious Kate Richbourg.

TV Shoot for Beads, Baubles and Jewels.

I am busy preparing to fly out to Cleveland, Ohio for a taping with host
Katie Hacker on Beads, Baubles and Jewels, which airs on National PBS stations.
I am very excited and enthusiastically making my lists and checking them twice.
The show will not air until after the Fall, but I'll keep you all posted when it does.
I'll be demonstrating how to work with Ice Resin, which is how I make all of my
jewelry pieces.  I just love Ice Resin and am so excited to be able to share it with
more folks.  I also teach and Ice Resin class every month at Collage.  If you live
in the Portland area, I'd love to show you the tricks of the trade in person.
I would like to thank Ice Resin, Nunn Design and Piddix for generously donating
resin, jewelry blanks and collage sheets for this taping.  All are amazing women
owned companies.  I can't say enough wonderful things about them.

Wish me luck!

Crafty Folks: Scott Weaver, Toothpick Artist.

Scott Weaver is an amazing toothpick artist.
Check out this amazing video displaying
his sculptural talent, as well as his feat of engineering.
Truly amazing.

Can you imagine the time, patience, and dexterity?
